Art for the "so-called" Non-Artist

This class is for the so-called "artistically challenged," (although artists are welcome, too). Over the course of five weeks, students will explore basic fundamentals while proving to themselves their own creative abilities in a relaxed and supportive environment. Projects will include book-making, a sculpture, printing, collage and more. The class will follow a basic structure in which a fundamental, such as dimension, color, various techniques, will be introduced with ample examples and explanation. After, the class will be given a project. The last 15 minutes of class will be spent on group "critique." The final two classes will be spent on a major project of student design which will capitalize upon at least three of the previously-discussed techniques.
