Algebra II and Geometry
This class will build on what you have learned in Algebra I. The focus will be on the quadratic equation, trigonometry, and exponential functions. We will also cover the relationship between algebra and geometry. We will study how pints , lines, and planes can be used to picture the space around us. Plane geometry, the study of geometric figures such as squares, triangles, and circles in a plane, will be the main focus. Several chapters will cover solid geometry, which includes cubes, prisms, and spheres. Payment covers 45 hours of instruction. Babysitting
The purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course is to provide individuals, ages 11-15, with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or adult guardians. How to Play Music in a "Pick-Up" Band
In this class you will learn how to play music with other musicians. This class will look at ways musicians work together with a variety of instruments and music forms. We will be open to many musical styles including folk, blues, jazz, country, and pop and you don't have to be a great reader. You will need your own instrument in working order and the ability to play at least 4 to 6 complete songs. It's time to get out and be a part of a great musical tradition.

Parenting
When parents share their concerns and perspectives on their children, there is an opportunity to explore solutions and share resources. Parents will learn about empathy, appropriate behaviors, brain development, rewards and punishments, praise and self-esteem, non-violent discipline and ways to have fun as a family. We will practice strategies to be effective with discipline, help your child learn to cooperate, and increase your enjoyment and effectiveness as a parent. Photography
This 8-week course will focus on the basic operation of the camera, exposure of film and how the lens aperture and shutter speed work together. We will discuss types of film, film speeds, and care and maintenance of cameras. We will learn about types of lenses, camera accessories, darkroom procedures covering film processing, print making, chemistry, darkroom equipment, digital imaging and computer enhancement procedures. The elements and rules of composition will be covered in several classes and incorporated into class assignments. Special emphasis will be placed on landscape and scenic photography. One class will be reserved to discuss portraiture, formal and informal portraits, artificial lighting and working with natural light.

Postsecondary Planning Workshop
Considering College? The Essentials of College Planning will survey the basic steps for successful college enrollment. The session will discuss college and trade school options in our region, entrance requirements, readiness, and transitional issues of adult students, admissions procedures and financial aid. During the session we will review a typical admissions application, request admissions materials and financial aid information from prospective colleges for each participant, and if appropriate, we will complete the financial aid form. This session is designed to set the stage for future sessions. You should bring your 2007 1040 tax form or a good estimate of 2007 income and any high school/GED transcripts you have available to customize workshop details to your needs to make the enrollment and financial aid process easier.

Residential Electrical Course
Seventy percent of an electrician's job is knowing laws and rules. In this course, you will learn the laws for safely running electricity in your own home to properly meet code requirements. We will cover the National Electric Code, electrical service (meter box) as well as installing lighting receptacles, troubleshooting electrical problems, housing layouts and requirements, and sizing and layout of electrical heat for a building or home.
